What do I need to bring?
A Troop Kit, Registration Packet, and a Girl Scout smile.
How do I get a troop kit and a
registration packet and a troop number? Come to the Girl
Scout office and pay a refundable $5 deposit for the kit.

Your Service Unit Orientation Specialist who is:
When is the training?
It is set up individually by the Service Unit Orientation
Specialist.
Why do I need to take this
training?
The training gives you valuable knowledge about the way our
council operates and the necessary guidelines and procedures set by our council to operate
your troop, as well as all of the forms. You will also meet other new leaders in your
area.
What other training do I need to
take?
Basic Girl Scout Orientation (a council course or home study
packet), and "Level" training pertaining to the age level you will be working
with. A First Aid/CPR trained adult is required for activities that are physically
demanding and other activities involving a potential for injury, including parades,
hiking, camping, etc.. See Safety Wise for specifics.
How much time do I have to take
it?
6 months.
Can I take it after I take my
other training?
No, training is progressive. The Leaders Lifeline Course
is the first training.
What training do I need to take
if I have already been a leader in another council?
Leaders Lifeline Course. Please provide our council
training department with a list of your current certifications and previous training.
How many meetings can I have
with girls before I need to register them?
New troops should register within 4 weeks of their first meeting
